Okay -- I just can't watch the Democratic National Convention -- it turns my stomach to hear the same lies, the same spin that I fell for, so many years ago. Knowing that so many young people and so many people with their hearts in the right place will fall for it.
It's the same obfuscation as always -- pretending like there were good ol' days that were idyllic. They're still dragging out the Kennedys, for cryin' out loud! Smoke and mirrors pretending like the failure of their policies never happened.
My husband happens to be there (and he'll be at the RNC next week) and he filled me in on all I need to know about Michelle Obama's speech. Apparently it could have been me up there.
Because apparently the qualifications for President are being a nice guy and having great kids. My husband surely qualifies.
But I dare say my spouse knows more about economic policy (heck, every kind of policy), has spent more time in Washington, and has rubbed elbows with more folks from both sides of the aisle.
And he's much better looking.
But I'm not going to be looking at swatches for the Lincoln Bedroom anytime soon. I don't think Michelle should either.
