First there was the original, Heath Ledger. His performance was praised by one and all. Then came the George W. Bush cover on Vanity Fair and the Right shrugged and said that was rude -- but inaccurate. We all knew that W. was actually Batman.
So now there's the ubiquitous Obama as Joker poster and the Left is up in arms. Immediately they started sputtering -- how terrible! Why.. why... it's RACIST!
Well, despite eloquent and empassioned arguments by legitimate commentators, like the article by Philip Kennicott in the Washington Post yesterday -- I'm sorry but it's a stretch. A huge one.
First they tried to argue that it was a black man in white face. Oh, wait. It's nothing like the opposite of a white man in black face, where a white man is performing a denigrating portrayal of a black man. No it's a man in a clown face. An evil clown.
So, they try to say things like, as in the article above,
"He is black and he is identified with the inner city, a source of political instability in the 1960s and '70s, and a lingering bogeyman in political consciousness "
WHAT?!!
Ok, raise your hand if you looked at that poster and thought to yourself -- yes, he's like the Joker because he is black and therefore urban and therefore dangerous.
Yup. NOBODY!
Now raise your hand if you thought -- yes, he's like the Joker because of the things he has done. He is single-handedly trying to take down our way of life with his reckless and dangerous actions.
Yup. IT"S UNANIMOUS!
The Democrat left is just too obsessed with the "Republicans are racist" meme that nothing else penetrates. Everywhere you turn in the lib MSM is the same mantra: Republicans are just SO angry there's a black man in the White House. Paul Krugman was on TV yesterday saying the ObamaCare protests are part of some GOP "Southern Strategy." El Rushbo is right when he says this country's most expensive commodity is *ignorance.* And boy is there a lot of it these days. No wonder the deficit is at an all-time high!

I have to admit, I don't think that Obama is the Joker. The Joker has a sense of humor, no matter how perverse. I'm not sure Obama does, he's apt to be perfectly serious when he comes out with these inanities. Of course, the Joker thinks himself a good deal funnier than he is...but still, I'm not sure Obama realizes what a fool he's made of himself. Those traits are related, but still kinda opposites.
Still, it's pretty impressive that anyone can tell that it's Obama, eh? I mean, could you really tell who was under the makeup in the other pictures if you didn't already know?
